This peak, which is wilder and less coveted than others, offers countless possibilities to all those mountain climbers in search of challenges off the beaten track. Either by its normal route (dry) or by its southern face (glacier), this volcano offers a variety of views that will leave you with eternal memories. The approach walk, as well as the climb itself make Mount Tupungato one of the most beautiful treks of the central mountain range.
As for the Aconcagua program, we recommend a previous acclimatization climb to Mount Plomo (5430m).

Trip features

Type of trip: mountaineering
Duration: 12 days
Suggested period: December to March
Fitness level: very demanding
Technical level: moderate

Highlights of the trip

Tupungato (6570m)

Rio Colorado Valley

Andes panorama

[/tab]

Itinerary

DAY 1: SANTIAGO – COLORADO RIVER VALLEY

Transfer to the Colorado River Valley (Alfalfal sector) where we will start our climb to Tupungato.
