Travel through Chile in 2015.  This is what four prestigious international websites advise travelers, who in the past month have elaborated lists and rankings of the best places to travel to during 2015.

The largest traveling community in the world, TripAdvisor, chose the Travelers’ Choice destinations on the rise winners, selecting the locations around the world that have registered a rise in the number of positive comments on their platform.  Santiago is situated second on the top ten of South America, right after Manaus in Brazil.  The online portal, which receives over 260 million unique visitors a month, mentions that “Santiago is one of those metropolitan joys where the more you look, the more you find”.

The winning destinations were chosen based on an evaluation given by the Internet users regarding accommodation, restaurants and diverse tourist attractions in the world.

Furthermore, the Travel + Leisure magazine made a list of the Best Places to Travel in 2015, including 50 outstanding destinations, Chile included.  They recommend visiting our country, highlighting the fact that US Citizens will not have to pay the reciprocity fee anymore.

Travel + Leisure states that many travelers go to the Atacama

Desert or Patagonia, but that there is much more to see.  The magazine also emphasizes visiting the Los Lagos Region, Pucón, the Millahue Valley and the “underrated city of Santiago”.

Then, the Fodor´s travel guide selected the Chilean Patagonia for its Fodor’s Go List 2015, with the 25 places in the world to visit next year, pointing out that “it’s never been easier to travel to this remote region”, referring to the increase in flights going into Puerto Natalesand Chiloe.

The editorials online version mentions that “For dazzling landscapes and superior outdoor activities, Chilean Patagonia can’t be topped. Torres del Paine National Park, with its aquamarine lakes and towering granite peaks, is a premier global destination for hikers and nature lovers”.

Altogether, the Rough Guides travel guide elaborated a People’s Choice list with the 10 countries recommended to visit this upcoming year.  Regarding Chile, positioned 6th, the guide highlights the contrasts our country embodies, enumerating several experiences and places such as the desert, the forests, the wine, the skiing and the night sky star gazing.

“We agree: Chile might be smaller than some of its South American neighbors, but it certainly packs a punch. Visit in 2015 to soak up the South American football spirit when Copa América kicks off in Santiago de Chile in June”, the Rough Guides online portal says.
